Bore Gauges - Series 89/7
? Offering superior reliability and convenience for making
close-tolerance inside diameter measurements the ls starret company
has introduced two new bore gauge series, 89 and 789. The dial
models (series 89) and the electronic model (789) feature a probe
depth up to a full 12 inches (300 mm) for deep hole measuring and
are totally insulated the entire probe length. On that, a rugged,
lightweight cast-aluminum shroud on both models protects and
surrounds the indicator, offering greater protection and durability
for shop use. Both of these charectoristics are unavailable in
competitive models. Plus, model 789, with electronic display,
features a base resolution of 0.00005"and also has the ability to
readout to 0.0001 ", 0.00025", 0.0005"and 0.001 "via a unique
multiple resolution feature. The elec-tronic model also offers
inch-to-metric conversion, preset mode at any point in the display
for installing and maintaining a reading, plus or minus travel
direction, max or min reading hold, zero at any position, and more.
The large, high-contrast lcd digital display is easy to read and
reduces errors. The electron-ic model also gives the user the
ability to avail statistical process control (spc) analysis and
hard copy documentation via an output port and cable. The gauge
will output to starrett 772 data collection systems, 761 data
multiplexers, direct-to-rs232 seri-al-bcd and mti. Series 89 dial
face models feature 0.0001"and 0.0005"inch graduation or 0.01 mm
and 0.002 mm graduations and have jewel bearings for additional
sensitivity. Both gauge series include carbide contact points to
ensure extended wear life and cater a measuring range from 2 to 6
inches (50-150 mm). They are furnished complete with extension,
